LIbrary Shelf

The Kreeger Museum's library holds a substantial collection of art books including monographs, art history texts, exhibition and auction catalogues, as well as other editions related to the collection. The Kreeger Museum also has a growing collection of videos featuring events that have taken place at the museum.

This quiet and contemplative space serves as an excellent resource for individuals doing research or for those individuals who would like to enrich their knowledge of the arts.

Library Visitation Policies

In order to visit the library, you must make prior arrangements with the staff by calling Visitor Services at 202.338.3552 or 202.337.3050.

The general public is permitted to use the library during regular tour hours (Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 12noon & 1pm - 3pm) as well as during Saturday open hours (1pm - 4pm). No books or videos may be removed from the library.

You must have a valid photo ID when visiting the library. This ID will be held at the front desk while you are in the library.

We do not allow backpacks or large bags into museum, on tours or in the library. We do reserve the right to inspect all bags when a visitor is entering or leaving the museum.
