OBSERVE AND CREATE AT
THE KREEGER MUSEUM

(Ages 8-12)

The Kreeger Museum offers Saturday workshops for children ages 8-12, featuring Washington artists as instructors. The individual sessions take their inspiration from the art and architecture of the museum.

Our fall workshops, led by artist Susan Hostetler, will showcase two of the French artists in the Kreeger's collection. The first workshop will look at the unique aspects of the impressionist style of painting through the seascapes of Claude Monet. The expressive work of sculptor August Rodin will be the focus of the second workshop.

Registration fee per child: $20 / Members: $15

Payment is due at time of registration. Refunds will be issued up to two weeks before the workshop. For reservations, call 202-338-3552.

How can a sculptor tell a story?  Observing Auguste Rodin’s sculptures of the human figure, students will discuss how Rodin conveys emotion through his figures.  Using modeling clay, students will form their own representations of human expression.
