Movement in 2-D Art
Saturday, March 30
10 am-12 noon

Teaching artist Jeneen Piccuirro will help students consider how to capture and convey movement in two dimensional art. The class will begin outside looking at the landscape and sketching from observation, investigating how to draw something that is MOVING. Back inside the museum, students will identify which paintings seem to have the most movement and why. In the workshop space, they will then create their own 2-D works of art which focus on creating movement & rhythm.

Sculpture: Interactions among Form, Space, and Light and the Works of John Dreyfuss

Teaching artist Valeria Caflisch will lead students in an introduction to important concepts of sculpture – form, space, and light by using John Dreyfuss’ work as an example. Students will then participate in an art making workshop where they can make their own sculptures to take home.
