Sculpture Collection![]() Oronzio Maldarelli Beatrice American, born Italy, 1892-1963 In the mid-1930’s, Maldarelli began to turn from abstract sculpture toward figurative forms, and by the late 1940’s, he was carving female figures almost exclusively. Like Maillol, his interest was more in the concept of the woman as a subject than it was in rendering specific individuals; his works are personifications rather than personalities. - From the catalogue, The Collection of Mr. and Mrs. David Lloyd Kreeger, Editor Margy P.
